The state election petitions tribunal has sacked Moses Sule, the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly.
The electoral petition tribunal in Jos dismissed the lawmaker, who was elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the last election.
He was fired alongside Danjuma Azi, the assembly member for Jos North West seat. The tribunal confirmed Hon. Naanlong Daniel, previous majority leader of the house, and Hon. Mark Na’ah, both of the APC, as winners of the March 18 elections.
The petitioner had challenged the Sule and Azi sponsorship on the grounds that the PDP was ineligible to participate in the election due to a lack of party organization.
In its decision, the tribunal chaired by Muhammad Tukur stated that the PDP was not qualified to sponsor the respondents for the election.
