The Federal Government of Nigeria has temporarily halted the enforcement of the contentious $300 helicopter landing fee following protests from helicopter operators.
The fee, managed by a consultant named Messers NAEBI Dynamic Concept Limited, has faced backlash from industry stakeholders.
Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, announced the suspension, citing the need for further review.
A committee has been formed to address the concerns raised and is expected to submit its findings by the end of June 2024.
The suspension took effect on May 30, 2024, pending the committee’s recommendations on the matter.
