President Bola Tinubu has nominated Tope Fasua, CEO of Global Analytics Consulting, as Special Adviser on Economic Affairs in the Vice President’s office.
On Friday night, Mr Fasua announced his appointment using his verified X handle.
“So, yours truly has been appointed Special Adviser to the President on Economic Affairs in the VP’s office. Just what I wanted for national impact. We thank God Almighty and those who remembered me and insisted. For God and country,” Mr Fasua said.
Mr. Fasua is a consultant, economist, accountant, columnist, and author.
Mr Fasua, a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria ICAN, studied economics at Ondo State University, where he graduated as the top student in 1991.

He earned his M.Sc in Financial Markets and Derivatives from London Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom. He began his career in 1992 with the now-defunct Citizens Bank. Later, he worked for Standard Trust Bank and Equatorial Trust Bank, rising to the post of Principal Manager/Regional Director in Abuja.
Mr. Fasua is a regular economics and financial markets analyst on television, with a Ph.D. in public administration and executive education courses from the London Business School and Harvard University.
He gathered a group of Nigerians to launch the Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party (ANRP) in 2016, and he was the party’s presidential candidate in the 2019 national elections.
He is the author of several books, including Crushed and Things to Do Before Your Career Fades.
