On Saturday, the Adamawa State Governorship Election Tribunal confirmed Umaru Fintiri as the state’s validly elected governor in the March 2023 governorship election.
The Adamawa Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has set October 28, 2023, as the deadline for a ruling on the suit challenging the election of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate, Senator Aishatu Binani Dahiru, has filed a petition disputing Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s designation as the winner of the March 2023 general election.
APC and Binani contended in their petition that the Tribunal should affirm Hudu Yunusa Ari’s proclamation declaring her the election winner, in addition to charges of widespread violations of electoral law and fraudulent voting procedures.
