The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested five individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud in Abuja on Wednesday, June 6, 2024.
The arrest of the suspected internet fraudsters (Yahoo boys) came after a covert operation conducted at the Ipent 7 Estate in Gwarimpa, Abuja, based on intelligence gathered about their illicit activities within the estate.
A terse statement issued by the EFCC on Thursday, said
among the items seized during the operation were a white Toyota Hilux, an ash-colored 2014 model Mercedes Benz GLK 350, and a white 2017 model Mercedes Benz GLE 43 AMG.
The anti-graft commission said the suspects will face charges in court once the investigations are completed.
