The Federal Government, FG, has scheduled an emergency meeting with the leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, and its counterpart, the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, TUC, in an attempt to avoid the planned statewide strike on October 3.
The discussion is scheduled for later this evening at Aso Villa, Conference Room of the President’s Office of Chief of Staff.
The meeting was originally scheduled for 12 noon today, but it was changed to the evening to allow Organised Labour to reach out to its leaders outside Abuja.
According to sources, the government invited the NLC and its TUC counterpart this morning via the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
