On Friday, the Delta State Governorship Election Appeals Tribunal dismissed for lack of merit the appeal brought before it by the All Progressives Congress candidate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, disputing the election of Governor Sheriff Oborevwor.
The three-member tribunal panel chaired by Justice C.H. Ahuchaogu validated Oborevwori’s victory in the state’s gubernatorial election on March 18, 2023, in its ruling.
The panel found that the petitioners had failed to demonstrate claims of Electoral Act violations and corrupt acts beyond a reasonable doubt.
