In a tragic incident, six troops serving in Operation Hadin Kai, the primary military operation against Boko Haram insurgents, lost their lives in a fatal auto crash in Bama, Borno State.
According to a report by SaharaReporters on Thursday, the soldiers were responding to a distress call on Wednesday evening when the accident occurred.
The soldiers were traveling in a gun truck, which veered off the road and overturned multiple times after hitting a road shoulder. Seven personnel were aboard the vehicle, but unfortunately, six of them succumbed to their injuries.
The driver, identified as Corporal Tairu, was reportedly maneuvering the vehicle back upon receiving orders to change route due to another unfolding situation when the accident took place.
