According to Minister of Works Dave Umahi, President Bola Tinubu has approved various forms of interventions on 260 highways throughout the 36 states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory.
Following a brief meeting with the President at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, he made this statement. In addition, the Works Minister stated that the intervention on these roads will cost 217 billion Naira.

In addition, the Abuja Lokoja road, the dualisation of the Lafia bypass, which is being funded by China Exim Bank, and the construction of the access road to the Lekki deep seaport in Lagos State have been approved for development.
The Minister states that, most importantly, the President has approved the reconstitution of the board of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency, which will assure the regular maintenance of these newly constructed roads.
