Taiwo Awoniyi, a forward for the Super Eagles, has been put forward for the August Premier League Player of the Month award.
Awoniyi received praise for the great performances he gave during the month’s Tricky Trees.
In three league appearances for Nottingham Forest during the month, the 26-year-old scored three goals.
On the first day of the season, the striker scored in the 2-1 loss to Arsenal.
Awoniyi also scored in the 2-1 win over Sheffield United at home and the 3-2 loss to Manchester United.
The other contenders for the honor are Bryan Mbeumo, James Maddison, Rodri, Kaoru Mitoma, and Jared Bowen.
