Leandro Trossard gave the title-chasing Gunners a 1-0 victory on Sunday, ending their six-year wait for a Premier League victory against Everton.
For their first victory at Goodison Park since 2017, Mikel Arteta’s team had to put up a fight. Belgian attacker Trossard settled the score halfway through the second half.
Despite not playing at their best, Arsenal matched Everton’s tough style to record their fourth victory in five games this season.
The Everton curse can only be broken if the players are ready to risk their lives, and Arteta’s players accepted the task.
This was another difficult match for Arsenal after they came from behind to defeat Manchester United in their previous game before the break.
However, Trossard’s goal propelled the unbeaten north Londoners into fourth position, two points behind Manchester City, as they seek to avenge their title-race collapse from the previous year.
Winless After narrowly avoiding the drop in each of the last two seasons, Everton is still in the relegation zone and is facing another relegation battle.
Ahead of the game, Sean Dyche’s players learned that Farhad Moshiri had agreed to sell his 94 percent ownership to American investment fund 777 Partners, meaning the club will soon have new owners.
The acquisition would end the turbulent reign of British-Iranian Moshiri, who made his initial investment in 2016.

Everton’s new owners saw the scope of the work ahead of them right away when the Toffees lost their fourth league game in a row for the first time since the 2005–06 season.
The former Everton midfielder Arteta seems unconcerned about such things as Arsenal prepares to play PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday in their first Champions League match in six years.
The goalkeeper David Raya, who joined Arsenal from Brentford and started the game instead of Aaron Ramsdale, gave the Spaniard a clean sheet as compensation.
Raya was one of two substitutions, with Fabio Vieira starting for the first time since April in Kai Havertz’s place.
When he slid the ball home from close range in the 19th minute, Gabriel Martinelli believed he had given Arsenal the advantage their domination merited. However, his effort was disallowed for offside against Eddie Nketiah in the buildup.
Nketiah was flagged for interference with play after Gabriel’s pass bounced off Beto of Everton, much to Arsenal’s displeasure.
Martinelli’s situation was made worse when the Brazilian forward soon after the event hobbled off with a muscle strain.
Everton did not make a single contact inside the Arsenal penalty area throughout the opening 30 minutes because Arsenal had such complete control of the match.
When Abdoulaye Doucoure entered the area and collapsed to the ground in response to a challenge from William Saliba, Everton unsuccessfully requested for a penalty.
Jordan Pickford of Everton stopped Ben White’s shot, then shortly after halftime, Marin Odegaard’s rocket was stopped even better by Pickford.
Arnaut Danjuma of Everton attempted a long-range shot that hit the roof of the net, but it wasn’t until the 69th minute that Arsenal’s pressure paid off.
Bukayo Saka skillfully flicked the ball into Trossard, who calmly finished with a clinical finish into the far corner for his first league goal of the year after a flurry of passes exposed the Everton defense.
