During the most recent international break, Nigeria’s Super Eagles earned a point against Saudi Arabia and a hard-fought victory over Mozambique.
The Super Eagles stayed 40th in the most recent FIFA World Ranking, released on Thursday.
Jose Peseiro’s club dropped to 40th place in April, down from 35th in December.
The main reason for this decrease is their exclusion from the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Nigeria had been placed 39th in June and July, but had dropped to 40th in September.
Their current place is maintained in the most recent rating. They are still sixth in the African standings, behind Morocco, Senegal, Tunisia, Algeria, and Egypt.
The Super Eagles’ most recent results were a 2-2 draw against Saudi Arabia and a 3-2 victory over Mozambique, neither of which significantly improved their status.
However, as the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations champions prepare to face the Lesotho Crocodiles in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match in November at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, they seek to better their position.
The Eagles will also face the Zimbabwean Warriors three days later at Kigali’s Amarhoro Stadium, which could increase their chances.
