The Imo State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal has confirmed the election of Hope Uzodimma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the governor of Imo State.
The ruling, delivered in Abuja, dismissed the petition filed by the Labour Party (LP) and its governorship candidate, Athan Achonu.
Justice Oluyemi Akintan-Osadebay, representing the three-man tribunal, stated that Uzodimma’s election was in substantial compliance with the provisions of the Electoral Act.
The tribunal highlighted that the Labour Party’s petition lacked sufficient evidence to support allegations of over-voting and non-compliance with the Electoral Act.
This ruling reinforces Uzodimma’s position as the duly elected governor of Imo State, following the electoral processes as mandated by law.
