In a significant breakthrough, Nigerian Army troops from Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) have arrested two suspected kidnappers, Yuza Abubakar and Musa Ishya, in Jagindi Community, Jema’a Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
Intelligence sources informed Zagazola Makama, a counterinsurgency expert and security analyst in the Lake Chad region, that the suspects were apprehended on June 14 during a ransom collection operation.
The kidnappers had reportedly abducted Miss Gero from Jagindi and demanded a ransom of N500,000 from her parents. Utilizing intelligence tactics, the army lured the suspects with a fake ransom and captured them at the collection point.
The suspects are said to be currently under investigation in military custody.
